Join me this October for a FREE, friendly Scrappy Sock Knit Along.
Whether you've never knitted a sock before, have one lonely sock waiting for its partner, or you've been knitting socks for years, you're very welcome.
We'll raid our leftover sock yarn, cast on together and spend October making a pair of scrappy socks — with plenty of help, encouragement and company along the way.
We cast on 1st October 2026.
What are we knitting?
We'll be using my Cornish Classic Sock Pattern, a straightforward cuff-down sock with a traditional heel flap and gusset.
Use your leftover 4ply sock yarn to make stripes, contrasting cuffs, heels and toes — or two completely mismatched socks.
No need to buy yarn. No need to be perfect.

Perfect.
We'll take it one stage at a time — cuff, leg, heel, gusset, foot and toe — and help you along the way.
And if you're already an experienced sock knitter, please join us too. Use up your scraps, make something fun and help us encourage those knitting their first pair.
You don't even have to finish a pair by 31 October.
Socktober isn't about perfect socks. It's about finishing the month able to do something you couldn't do at the beginning.
