Vintage 20 is a soft, strong and lustrous yarn. Created by wool decanted from a unique blend of fibres from British Shetland and Blue-faced Leicester sheep. The Shetland provides strength and softness and we added Blue Faced Leicester for lustre and drape. The addition of fawn fleeces provides a lovely heathery natural base and solid richness for our dyed colours.
Vintage 21 matches the softness of vintage 20. We chose fibres from an award-winning British flock of Polwarth x Romney sheep in Northumberland to create a yarn unique to wool decanted. The base is a delicious rich cream, which soaks up colour. And in a recent review by Knitting magazine, vintage 21 was described as delivering “…the kind of stitch definition you might expect from a Merino”Both yarns, perfect for next to skin projects, are worsted spun to the same 4/9Nm specification. This produces a deliciously soft, lustrous, and nicely elastic fabric with excellent stitch definition and lovely drape.
Vintage 23
A blend of wool fibres from Polworth, Romney and Black Shetland sheep.
Worsted-spun in West Yorkshire, vintage 23 has excellent stitch definition, perfect for texture and colour work, and it blooms beautifully when blocked.
The finished fabric feels soft and luxurious against the skin.
Big sister to the fingering weight, DK is the go-to weight for cooler days. Perfect for warmer garments whilst sharing all the luxurious characteristics of the 4ply. Soft and drapey, with strength and durability. The smoothness of the yarn gives excellent stitch definition, and the finished fabric feels cosy and comforting against the skin.Make something to treasure!
