This is a smooth, worsted-spun and plied yarn with a lot of lustre and great bounce! The Bluefaced Leicester breed produces wool that is strong and still manages to be next-to-skin soft, making it ideal for a wide range of projects. This yarn will work fantastically in hats, mittens, jumpers, and big cosy shawls. It wears well over time and pills very little. The stitch definition is excellent, making it suitable for beautiful stocking stitch, textured knit-purl patterns, thick and squishy brioche, and well-defined cables.

They hand dye all our yarn in our studio in the Royal Ordnance Depot, Weedon, by the Grand Union Canal. Their yarn has been hand dyed in small batches, and the colour consistency between batches is very good but can’t be guaranteed, so we recommend that you buy enough skeins for your project. If your project uses more than one skein, we also recommend that you alternate / stripe the skeins throughout.

Fibre: 100% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester sourced in the UK

Weight: 100g fingering 4ply

Length: 400 metres

Recommended needle & hook size: 3.25mm – 3.75mm

Processing: Spun in Peru, dyed in the UK

Care: When it comes to blocking or washing your project, use lukewarm water with your favourite wool wash, and lay flat to dry. We take great care to thoroughly set the dye and rinse the yarn afterwards, but differing water temperatures and chemicals can cause some dye to bleed. If you’re using it in a multicoloured project, we recommend washing a swatch first to test for colour-fastness.
