PRICE: £75 – pattern included DATES and TIME: 9th and 16th March 2024 11 qm – 2pm over 2 sessions LOCATION: Stitches & Cream, Falmouth, Cornwall SESSIONS: 2 LEVEL: Confident beginner MAX CLASS SIZE: 4 people TELL ME MORE Many of the most popular sweater patterns are now knitted from the neck down on circular needles. Or 'knitted in the round'. This way of knitting sweaters has many advantages not least that you don't have any seams to sew up afterwards! If you want to learn how to knit this way this course is for you so you can build your confidence in knitting in the round, and it will open up a world of new pattern options for you too. We will be using one of the following as a choice: 1. 'Purls of Wisdom' pattern by the Fibre Company. Yarn needed: Aran weight 2. Sea Haven by JST Knitwear Design Yarn needed: Double Knit COURSE OUTLINE • Session 1: Reading the pattern, achieving gauge, and casting on in the round, knitting the yoke and preparing for sleeve seperation • Session 2: Picking up the sleeves and finishing your work WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE? • The pattern and tutor WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Needles and Yarn (we can advise and help here) Yarn: Aran weight yarn. Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rounds to 10cm (4in) - the yarn we used is &Make from the Fibre Company (5 - 9 x 100g - 150metres per skein- skeins depending on your size requirements) OR Any DK weight yarn for Sea Haven option 2 Needles: Option 1: 4.5mm for small circumference (sleeves and neck) 5mm longer circular needles (length will depend on what size you opt to make) Option 2: 4mm and 3.5mm longer circumference 3.5mm for neck A stitch marker WHO IS THIS CLASS SUITABLE FOR? This class is for a confident beginner, or someone who wants a refresh after a long break from the craft, or someone who has never knitted a top down sweater in the round. ABOUT YOUR TEACHER Jane has been knitting for many years having learned from her mother and grandmother as a child. She knits and crochets all the time and is a very experienced yarnie enthusiast.
