WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Fabrics and notions are not included in the price –
Elastic – 2cm wide X your waist measurement
Iron on Interfacing – lightweight
Light to medium light weight fabrics such as cotton, chambray, crepe, lightweight linen, poplin, crepe de chine. If you don’t have much sewing experience, I would strongly suggest buying a stable cotton type fabric to sew this in, as a slippery silk will be rather tricky!!FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:1.5 – 2m of lightweight woven fabric (check with us before buying)
It’s a good idea to have pre-washed your fabric so that you know the shrinking is done before you sew a garment. This is especially important for stretch fabrics! Wash the fabric on the temperature you normally wash your clothes, or a bit higher. If you are buying the fabric on the day of the class, you can use our steam iron to pre-shrink the fabric before cutting.
If you have any questions about how much fabric you’ll need, come into the shop or email us and we’ll be able to assist you.
