Fabric suggestions:
Light to medium light weight fabrics such as cotton, chambray, crepe, lightweight linen, poplin, crepe de chine. If you don’t have much sewing experience, I would strongly suggest buying a stable cotton type fabric to sew this in, as a slippery silk will be rather tricky!!FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:1.5 – 2m of lightweight woven fabric (check with us before buying)

It’s a good idea to have pre-washed your fabric so that you know the shrinking is done before you sew a garment. This is especially important for stretch fabrics! Wash the fabric on the temperature you normally wash your clothes, or a bit higher. If you are buying the fabric on the day of the class, you can use our steam iron to pre-shrink the fabric before cutting.

If you have any questions about how much fabric you’ll need, come into the shop or email us and we’ll be able to assist you.

WHO IS THIS CLASS SUITABLE FOR?

This class is an Intermediate level. You should be comfortable with using a sewing machine and sew following the seam allowance. You should have tackled a few dress making projects at home, and are quite comfortable using dress making patterns.
