The detail: In this one day class you will make a woven camisole top which is an excellent wardrobe staple. Everyone should have several in different colours and fabrics! It can be worn on its own in the summer and under a blazer or cardigan in Autumn and Spring. This top has delicate shoulder straps and is best finished in lightweight woven fabrics and for complete beginners the best type of the fabric is cotton lawn or lightweight linen as they are nice an easy to sew. If you are more used to sewing and crepe, rayon or viscose would make a lovely cami.

This si a beginner plus class and you should be comfortable using a sewing machine and be able to sew following the seam allowance. By the end of the day you will have completed your top and have a pattern to use again and again.

  • how to use a pattern
  • check your sizing
  • how to prepare, lay out and cut your fabric
  • finish raw edges
  • hemming

  • the pattern to take home and use again and again
  • use of all our sewing equipment including our sewing machines

What do I need to bring?

  • your own fabric and notions as these are not included in the price – suggested fabrics are lightweight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, lightweight linens, crepe, rayon (check with us what to bring) Please pre wash your fabrics as shrinking can occur on the first wash
  • matching thread

Fabric 45″/115cm wide – Size US 0-4 = 1.6m/ Size US 8-18 = 1.8m

Fabric 55″/150cm – Size US 0-10 1.1m/ Size US 12-18 = 1.8m
